What effects do video games have on people?

I need some pros and cons for a debate. I am debating that video games don’t have a negative effect on people. Some extra arguments and rebuttles in my favor would help too.

positive - somehow makes way for passion on several areas of things

negative - too much makes ppl lazy, fat…, and failing grades

    Ok, I’m joking.

    I think videogames are inexpensive, convenient entertainment, but they can make people less active, socially and physically.

    I threw mine out and my life improved a little bit, but just a little.
