Quite interesting …
Quite interesting video. Anyway, I would suspect that there are more reasons why some words become dated and archaic and other words replace them. And maybe it’s normal - the language that would’t change would be dead and boring. But yes, some English words really change too quickly - and I am glad I am not the only one who is annoyed…

It seems every statist the comes to my page constantly equates the State with law and order, however the State does not create law, it creates legislation. Real law and order comes about though human action and experimentation.

True, there is so much doublethink in the world today.
“What is above all …
“What is above all needed is to let the meaning choose the word, and not the other way around.
Probably it is better to put off using words as long as possible and get one’s meaning as clear as one can through pictures and sensations. Afterward one can choose — not simply accept — the phrases that will best cover the meaning, and then switch round and decide what impressions one’s words are likely to make on another person.”

Decent. But until you can get everyone to agree upon a definition of “anarchist”, then I maintain my linguistic secession to “anti-statist”.

I realized an interestingly ambiguous word today:
‘ration’
Sheldon Richman had a post that was titled ‘Markets don’t ration!’ From the title, I incorrectly umed that he was making a catallactic/individualistic critique of collective terms that distort and homogenize the expression of those individuals’ actions.
Instead he was about the rationing of goods by government
Then it hit me: how many statist-action terms get a connotational boost by a homonym.
others include:
order(s), law, etc

Plus, it’s not a good idea to respond to:
“So you want absolutely no regulations of the economy?” with “Yes.” What you should say is “No, I do not support state violence” since that spins the debate into your favor.
Completely disregarding the importance of words limits your effectiveness as a debater.

I don’t agree with this video. As a libertarian I pride myself for having the philosophy that preaches self-ownership, voluntary interaction, and non-violence. I do not use the phrase “laissez-faire” as a label of my viewpoints because that phrase portrays me as a whiney who wants to get away with everything.

It’s always nice to see the total absurdity of “political correctness” illustrated clearly.
The development of more “sensitive” terms creates an arbitrary standard of classification that, if not abided by, produces a needlessly offensive climate that would not exist otherwise. It’s all terribly ironic.
